Hatred ceased by Love

I don't know when my hatred for him was ceased by the eternal love. I was pestered by him. I even chided him many times. Though I behaved mischievously his lighthearted banter never took his heart up. He interpreted all my behaviors as a warm response from my side. Though my reply was always a 'no' to him, my friends vexed me with his name. His eyes always waited my entrance in the classroom. Though I had no interest on him, he used to attract my attention towards him in several ways. I don't mean that he was a bad guy but those days I gave no worth to his love.
After my school life was over, I felt his love. I don't know when my cold reply to him changed into a warm one. Now I don't know in which part of the world he resides and how he is, however, his last word for me always throb in my heart- " You are my soul, with every breath I think of your grace, charm and innocence." Today I am waiting for his footsteps with my each heartbeat.

Creations of Science

Our civilization is the history of the growth of science. Science has got command over all disciplines of the society. It deals about the structure and behavior of natural and physical world, based on facts that we can prove, for example by experiments. It is the knowledge obtained by examining and seeing how things work. Science has brought immense development on the face of the earth. Wherever we go we see the creations of science. It has removed many of our sufferings. In the past, people had a concept of 'What cannot be cured must be endured.' The development of medical science is of great importance to us. In the past, people suffered from various diseases like leprosy, malaria, tuberculosis, etc. But now treatment of such diseases is easily available. Transportation is another gift of science that has made us easier to travel from one place to another. Electricity is another gift of science that turns a night into a day within a second. Science has provided many things for pleasure and entertainment like music system, TV, radio, etc. Life becomes charmless and empty without such things. Computer is another remarkable gift of science. Communication has become possible to distant places because of the facilities of e-mail, Internet, telephone, etc. So, the works have become easier and more convenient.
Actually, science is the art of creation and discovery. It has become a subject of great interest to almost all the people in today's world. Science has disclosed many mysteries of the universe. Launching of artificial satellites has extended our mind towards the universe.
But it is a thing of grief to say that the people have misused the creations of science. The two World Wars showed that science is very destructive but it is the human himself who makes science destructive by his misdeeds. Thus, science becomes a good servant for those who utilize its service and a bad master for those who misuse it. Science is always in the service of man so lets make its best use and give our minds for new inventions and discoveries that shall benefit all of us.

Energy Crisis

Energy is the ability to put effort and enthusiasm into an activity, work, etc. It is a source of power, such as fuel, used for driving machines, providing heat, etc. Energy plays a vital role in life. The sources of energy occur in nature. The global energy crisis is now entering a new phase. Its role in the development of humanity is ever increasing. At the same time the technologies in practice are on the verge of large changes. Today it is essential to make a sharp turn towards the intensification of energy productions, creation of technologies, protection of natural resources and so on to ensure the increase of productivity and economic growth.

The deterioration of the energy products in the world has aroused an unprecedented interest in the problems of energy supply among governments, different international organizations, researches, institution and individual scholar.

The development of nuclear power industry and the prospects of harnessing thermo-nuclear energy practically lift the limitations on the growth of the earth's energy base for the several centuries to come. In this manner no "energy hunger" threatens mankind. The development of power engineering in Asian, African and Latin American countries is a subject of special concern, whereas now they account for less than 25% of world energy consumption. There are challenges in the use of nuclear energy and indeed plenty of difficulties. For instance some nations do not use nuclear energy.

The global energy scenario portrays a grim picture of the things to come. One-estimate shows that oil is being used 8 - 10 million barrels per day. In about 40 – 50 years time this all resources will vanish. With the present rate of consumption this will last for another one and a half century. The developing countries too seem to be competing in draining their fossils reserves for short time gains.

Also it is feared that any short-term abandonment of nuclear power would endanger electricity supply and so on. There is very little doubt that very large quantities of uranium remain to be discovered. However, the economic price to be paid would be too high and politically unacceptable.

But before entering into any detailed debate, it should be borne in mind that even orientation of well-tested and reliable technologies requires the mobilization of considerable resources of developing countries. The development of a policy for the advancement of world power engineering is a difficult but perfectly realistic business, which requires joint effort of all countries.

Pillars of Success

Success and failures are the two aspects of human life. They are just like the two sides of a coin. A man is always happy with his success and obviously sad in his failure. The proverb means that success comes through failures or failure is the mother of success. The foundation of success becomes stronger only when it passes through many failures or obstacles. Failures are like the struggles of life. A man who has struggled a lot in life is able to face any difficulty. Likewise failure makes a man more devoted towards his duty. So, we should not discourage ourselves with our failures. When we fail once, we have the experience of failure. We learn by experience in second attempt. Our experience makes us wiser and bolder. Then, there will be the foundation of success. In fact success depends upon wisdom and self-confidence.

We should not take the proverb in its literal meaning. It doesn't mean to say that a man has to fail in order to succeed or it also doesn't mean that the more a man fails, the more sure will be his success. However, failures should not discourage us. Failures should not be taken negatively. They should make our will stronger to act with greater determination for success. We should take failures as the inspiration for success.

When we fail in exam we are upset, when we fail in an interview we are upset, when we fail to persuade somebody we are upset but actually these are not our failures instead an attempt towards success. There are many examples in the history to prove that failures are the pillars of success. Robert Bruce, king of Scotland fought many battles, but was defeated every time. He took his failure as an inspiration and finally succeeded. We must know the causes of our failure. Sometimes we fail because of our own carelessness or fault. Sometimes we fail for our nervousness. We fear failure before it actually happens. So, we are bound to fail.

Success depends upon the labor of a person and his mental quality. A person must know how to succeed in life. To achieve success we must be hard working. We have to attempt again and again for success and never beware of working hard. We should have courage and the will to succeed. We should not accept defeat at any cost. We will lose the battle of life if we feel defeated. We must be optimistic in life. Pessimistic people discourage themselves and are always defeated in life. We have to accept the challenge with determination and bravery. Of course failures are unpleasant things. But they point the way to success.

Although, failures upsets us at times making us disappointed and defeated, we must have a strong spirit and undefeatable desire for victory in life. Whenever we fail to succeed in our life we should remember the proverb that failures are the pillars of success. In fact failures are not failures but a "gateway to success".

Child Rights

As the day begins with the rise of the sun, the world also begins with the birth of a child. Thus, children are the world makers. They are the future leaders and the glory of the nation. The future of the world depends on the future of the children. They are the ones who lead the country in the path of progress and prosperity. Therefore, they need good environment from childhood. They require the atmosphere of reconciliation. A house without a child is just like a classroom without a board. Then a great question arises- how does a child come to street and become a street child? This question may arise in the mind of many people but it soon is dissolved because none of the people yet have been able to solve this problem.

Not all the children of the world get favorable environment for their proper growth and development. Being depressed by family members, household, financial problems and many other reasons including excitement of leading the city life, they are forced to live a life of misery and poverty. Thus, they come to street and become street children. Some of them may turn to drug addicts or are indulged in child labour. In the context of our country, there are many such instances. Every year many children (mostly from Terai) run to India in the hope of getting employment and earning a lot. Out of them many are sold to circus. Some of them may turn to prostitution. Many children under 14 are exploited as slave in the name of servant where they are compelled to live a life of misery and harassment.

Universal Children's day is celebrated every 20th of November. This encourages children and they feel a kind of responsibility towards the nation. So, we must extend different kinds of programs for the welfare of the children and to bring familiarity on them. Recently Sinamangal has been recognized as 'Free from Child Labour'. This is also an example of a pace towards the progress and prosperity of the nation.
For the upliftment of children, we must eliminate child exploitation by making protocol rules and providing moral education to the families. If we can bring good impact on the children, they become men of character in future. The children are like the pots of the potters and may be shaped as we wish. That's why, let's echo the whole world with our tender voice that should convey the message, 'Protect the children and safeguard their rights'.

Crazy Lover

Today I am living in the dearth of love and company. What I have are loneliness and dejection. But I used not to be like this always. I had dreamt of bright future. One day she came into my life. She came as a waft of breeze and took every happiness of my life as a raging storm.
That day I was being late to college. I hurriedly stopped a bus and by destiny I sat beside her. Both of us were pensive. Her starry eyes were looking at me time and again. Then she asked me, -"What's the time?" I said,-"It's 10:30. She was looking very hasty. I had never thought that this short conversation would make my life deplorable and distressing. In this way, I often started meeting her in bus. Within few weeks we chatted away as if we knew each other for many years. And I did not know, when our hearts became one life. My love for her became deeper than sea and broader than sky. For me to live without her became like a swimming fish kept over a hot land.
Both of us were students of science. I was the student of Microbiology and she had aimed to become a doctor. After two years, she went to Bangladesh to study MBBS. To live without her for five and half years was difficult but I was exultant of her bright future. Time passed. I completed my study. I was waiting for her arrival and our blissful union. On the meantime I heard of a plane crash and her demise. I was profoundly shocked and distressed hearing such heart-rending news. I became thoughtless. I started wandering deliriously as a loafer.
Today eight years have passed but I haven't been able to forget her. I always wait for night so that I can dream about her. I have become lonely. What I have today is only my shadow that walks with me in daylight and again makes me lonely in the darkness. And the sweet memories that I had with her. She made me her crazy lover.
